Systems Integrators
A New Era: How SIs Are Creating New Revenue Through Services

There’s an emerging trend of SIs becoming much more like MSPs through going beyond traditional systems and implementations to creating new revenue streams through the management and monitoring of networks and smart devices. Let’s explore the shift and how SIs can take advantage of the new norm.

Smart Devices are now Critical Infrastructure

There are 2.5 billion devices today, with 20.7 billion in the next 7 years. And this explosion of smart devices has led to the blurring of lines between IT and OT. Organizations are expanding from the traditional sense of critical IT devices (routers, switches, firewalls, servers) to smart devices (cameras, access control, P2P wireless, sensors).

SIs are Shifting to Recurring Services to Better Serve Their Customers

According to the Commercial Integrators 2022 State of the Industry Report, 50% of Systems Integrators have shifted to provide managed services, with almost 10 percent of integrators responding that half their revenue is from services.

‍And that growth is expected to continue. Forecasts predict an 8.4 percent annual growth rate in managed services from 2021 to 2026, which is faster than the overall integrator industry growth rate of 7.2 percent.
